About me and about my journey of healing (while being a nurse) that led me to want to help others heal from a natural approach and experience better living.

I have been a nurse since 2013. I started in healthcare as a CNA in 2007.
I became a nurse because of my dad's hospice nurse, Kami, who was beyond amazing.
My dad died of colon cancer when he was forty-six, and his mother also died of colon cancer when she was the same age. They both suffered from depression, were incredibly quiet, and did not get proactive screenings done. My dad also smoked about two packs of cigarettes a day.
As a seventeen-year-old, his death rocked my world. We did not have grief and loss support (per my dad's request, thinking that was best), so I resorted to self-medication to cope through my pain without a clear understanding of what grief even was.
As I aged and had a child of my own, I realized the importance of taking care of myself for my child and family, as well as the importance of screening and knowing how to take care of myself and others. My life goal shifted to getting my RN license and educating myself and others on how NOT to die early. I also wanted to understand how to navigate the healthcare system for myself, my friends, and my family.
During my nursing career, I noticed how reactive the United States healthcare system is. We try to manage health conditions once they are chronic or so advanced that damage to the body is irreparable.
Is there a place for acute medicine? Absolutely. But why are the doctors NOT looking at what a person is eating, drinking, and putting on or in their body? Is he or she exercising regularly? How he or she managing stress? ALL OF THESE THINGS MATTER. WE ARE MULTIFACETED HUMAN BEINGS AND LOOKING AT ALL PARTS OF A PERSON'S MAKE-UP MATTERS.
I am here to help people find what is needed to bring their body back to homeostasis (balance).
